To be clear, we are not a body shop. We do not paint cars – we repair cars using our specialized tools and are able to keep your factory finish. Factory finish, two words you should hear often when researching Paintless Dent Repair (PDR). Maintaining your factory finish is the biggest difference between PDR and a body shop.
Factory finish refers to the painting process applied on the assembly line in the automotive factory as cars are built. It is the most durable finish and protection your car will ever have. In the factory, the paint is applied before the car is assembled with any glass, rubber moldings, interior parts, or ANY parts outside of the body as they would be damaged by the extreme heat used in the painting process. Those factory conditions are never duplicated and, if repainted outside of the factory, never as durable. In other words, you only get one factory finish.
We are the preferred method of repair because we keep your car like new. We do not change anything about your factory paintwork.
This is an example of body shop repair and how the factory finish and ecoat on this car are now compromised. Body shop has installed a replacement fender as well as adding body filler and sanding parts of the door to make car “new again”
This picture shows the use of body filler as a way to repair dents. Sometimes it the only way to repair damage to your vehicle and we would be happy to refer a quality body shop to help answer your needs. However, make sure the first call you make is to a PDR technician. Call Dentworks first for an amazing service.
